❗️🇮🇱🇵🇸🎞 Israeli-Palestinian conflict chronicles:
October 31- November 1, 2023


▪️Over the past few days, IDF units have been conducting raids into the northern Gaza Strip. North of Gaza, Israeli troops were able to get closer to Beit Hanoun. To the west, Israeli troops entered the coastal al-Karam district and attempted to advance deeper into the settlement. Hamas militants, in turn, responded with targeted attacks on the advancing enemy and rocket strikes. 

▪️South of Gaza, Israeli forces crossed the Salah al-Din highway and continued moving towards al-Rasheed road. The IDF's likely objective is to block the land routes between the north and south of the enclave.

▪️In parallel with the raids, the Israeli Air Force continues to launch massive strikes on the Gaza Strip. More than 400 people were wounded or killed in Jabalia. The IDF justified the casualties by eliminating one of the Hamas commanders. 

▪️Egyptian authorities opened the Rafah crossing for the evacuation of foreigners, dual nationals and seriously wounded from the Gaza Strip. 

▪️At the same time, Palestinian militias launch rockets towards Israeli cities. Border communities as well as Be'er Sheva, Ashdod and Tel Aviv were hit, with more than 20 people injured.

▪️Mutual exchanges of strikes between Hezbollah militants and Israeli soldiers continue along the northern border. In response to the shelling, the Israel Defence Forces hit forests in southern Lebanon with incendiary shells.

▪️Protests and clashes between the Arab population and Israeli security forces continue in the West Bank. Over 110 locals have been detained over the past two days, a significant number of whom are students and journalists.

▪️The Yemeni Ansar Allah movement attempted to strike southern Israel several times, but air defence intercepted all rockets. To strengthen the defence, the Israeli command transferred naval ships to the Red Sea.

October 26-27, 2023


▪️The IDF announced the expansion of ground operations against Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip. Immediately following the announcement, the most extensive bombardment of the enclave since the escalation began commenced.

▪️Expansion, in this context, signifies conducting deeper raids within the enclave. There is no mention of the commencement of a full-scale ground operation yet.

▪️Over the past two days, Israelis have carried out several such actions, with varying degrees of success. On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, Israelis carried out a raid in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, but the actual results remain unknown.

▪️However, the raid on Thursday night to Friday from Maghazi and Bureij did not end in success. Palestinians reported a successful ambush and the capture of Israeli military personnel.

▪️A similar attempt to land marine forces on the beach near the city of Rafah also ended in failure. 

▪️Simultaneous to these types of raids, the Israeli Defence Forces continue to reduce the enclave to ruins with air raids. According to Palestinian claims, all communications in the Gaza Strip have been severed, including an internet blackout.

▪️In response, Palestinian groups continue to shell Israeli cities, but the scale is incomparable to Israeli strikes.

▪️Hezbollah activities on the northern border has decreased, but due to the expansion of Israeli ground raids, it may increase once more.

▪️On the West Bank, Israeli forces continue mass detentions of Palestinians.

▪️Yemeni Houthi militants from the Ansarallah movement attempted to launch a rocket strike in southern Israel. The projectile hit the Egyptian city of Taba.

▪️An attack occurred on an Israeli military base in Dahlak in Eritrea on the east coast of Africa.

❗️🇮🇱🇵🇸🎞 Israeli-Palestinian conflict chronicles:
October 24-25, 2023


▪️On Tuesday, Palestinian militias launched one of the most massive strikes on Israel since the beginning of the conflict. The militants' targets again included Ashkelon, Sderot and Ashdod, close to the Gaza Strip, as well as cities in the centre of the country.

▪️Hamas militants again landed on the beach near Kibbutz Zikim, attacking IDF positions near the base of the same name. Fighting at the site went on until late into the night, but the Israelis managed to repel the attacks, eliminating four Palestinian radicals.

▪️The Israeli Air Force continues to bomb continuously the entire territory of the Gaza Strip. As before, the victims are primarily Palestinian civilians. A strike on a shopping centre killed 15 people.

▪️In the West Bank, Israeli security forces keep detaining numerous locals. In Jenin, Palestinians ambushed IDF fighters by detonating a landmine on the convoy's route. Four soldiers were wounded.

▪️Along the border with Lebanon, clashes between Israelis and Hezbollah have continued unabated for a day. The fighters are shelling IDF strongholds, towers and equipment on a daily basis. Lebanese civilians, among others, come under return fire.

▪️Pro-Iranian militias continue to shell Israeli territory from the Syrian side, as well as U.S. targets within range. Fourteen incidents of such shelling and strikes in Syria and Iraq have been recorded in two weeks.

▪️In Syria, the Israeli Army struck Syrian Arab Army positions in Daraa province, killing more than 20 people. In the north, Aleppo airport was hit: the international terminal was again disabled by an Israeli strike.

▪️In Iraq, pro-Iranian militias shelled the U.S. base of Ain al-Asad. One American serviceman was killed, over 20 wounded.

October 21-23, 2023


▪️In the northern direction, Hamas militants continue to strike Israeli localities. A series of explosions took place in Ashkelon and Sderot, and air defence operated several times over Tel Aviv.

▪️The situation is similar in the eastern direction, where Re'im, Be'eri, Nirim, Sufa and Netivot came under fire. In addition, militants infiltrated across the border at Kissufim and attacked IDF positions with ATGMs.

▪️Hamas also used kamikaze drones to attack the Israeli bases of Hatzerim and Tze'elim. Both drones were detected and destroyed on approach to the military facilities by air defence units.

▪️On Monday night, the IDF launched one of the most powerful strikes on the Gaza Strip in 17 days of conflict. Dozens of civilian facilities were damaged and more than 400 people, including children, were killed.

▪️The shelling of the southern part of the enclave continues unabated: Khan Younis and Rafah came under daily fire from IDF. Several high-rise residential buildings were destroyed and more than 40 people were killed.

▪️Thanks to international influence, the parties were able to negotiate the opening of the Rafah border crossing. Three humanitarian aid convoys have entered the Gaza Strip since Saturday.

▪️On Sunday, an IDF tank struck Egyptian forces positions near the Kerem Shalom border crossing. Nine Egyptians were injured. 

▪️Clashes between Israeli troops and Hezbollah fighters continue on the Lebanese-Israeli border. 

▪️Clashes between the Arab population and Israeli security forces continued in the West Bank. About 800 Palestinians have been detained in the region since the beginning of the conflict.

▪️At the same time, Israeli security forces are using armoured vehicles and aircraft to suppress discontent. In Jenin an airstrike was launched on an apartment building where one of the protest leaders was believed to be located.

October 19-20, 2023


▪️Palestinian forces continue to shell Israeli towns from the Gaza Strip. Most of the rockets were intercepted by air defences, but Beer Sheva, Netivot, Sderot and Ashkelon were hit.

▪️On Thursday evening, unidentified men on three ATVs drove into a shooting range at an Israeli military base near Be'er Sheva. The drivers did not respond to a demand to stop, so they opened fire at them: one person was killed and the others fled.

▪️The Israeli Air Force continues bombing of the Gaza Strip. Another member of the Hamas Politburo is eliminated.

▪️One of the strikes hit the vicinity of the Church of Saint Porphyrius. Judging by the footage from the site, the building itself survived.

▪️The Rafah crossing is being renovated: humanitarian aid is planned to be brought into Gaza through the crossing. But so far no one has made a political decision on opening the crossing.

▪️Hezbollah continues to exchange strikes with the IDF along the entire Israel-Lebanon border.

▪️Militants of the Lebanese branch of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the militant wing of Hamas, fired rockets from Lebanon into Israel's northern border. In all, some 30 rockets were fired.

▪️Violent clashes between Israeli security forces and Palestinians are underway in the West Bank. Tactical aviation is used to quell the unrest, with one of the strikes hitting the Nur Shams camp.

▪️Following Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived in Israel. During his visit, he supported the Israelis and said he hopes for their speedy victory over Hamas.

▪️On Thursday, a Houthi group from Yemen fired three Quds-3 rockets into southern Israel. The projectiles were intercepted on approach by the American ship USS Carney.

▪️In the northern direction, in addition to regular artillery duels, Hamas militants attempted to land near the kibbutz Zikim.

An Israeli helicopter that flew to the scene located the Palestinians and destroyed them with standard weapons fire.

▪️Palestinian militias again shelled Ashkelon, Ashdod, Rishon LeTsiyon and Holon.

Most of the rockets were successfully intercepted by Israeli air defences.

▪️The Israel Defence Forces continue to launch massive air and sea strikes on the Gaza Strip.

One of the strikes killed Iman Nofal, commander of the central division of Hamas' military wing.

▪️Also in the enclave, there was a powerful explosion near the Christian Baptist Al-Ahli Hospital.

The Palestinians blamed Israel for the attack on the facility and claimed 800 people were killed, but there are no confirmation.

▪️There were several clashes between Israeli troops and Hezbollah militants on the Lebanese-Israeli border.

The group shelled several settlements, the Israel Defence Forces launched counter-strikes.

▪️At the same time, amid the news of the strike on the hospital, calls for armed resistance began to spread in the West Bank.

Nevertheless, the security forces are currently managing to restrain the discontent of radicalised citizens.

▪️The situation remains difficult in the southern Gaza Strip, where the Rafah border crossing remains closed.

However, humanitarian aid trucks are unable to pass through the crossing due to constant shelling by Israeli forces.

October 14-16, 2023


▪️On Friday, the Israel Defence Forces concentrated a large amount of manpower and equipment along the border perimeter with the Gaza Strip.

Israeli soldiers are preparing for a ground operation, their positions are regularly shelled by militants.

▪️In addition to shelling, Palestinian groups occasionally launch attacks on Israeli positions.

Several clashes occurred at Sufa and Nirim, where Palestinians managed to injure soldiers and damage equipment with ATGMs.

▪️On the night from Saturday to Sunday, Israeli aviation again fired missile at the Aleppo airfield in Syria.

This was preceded by the shelling of Israeli positions in the occupied Golan Heights from SAR territory.

▪️The situation along the Israel-Lebanon border escalated sharply on Sunday where fighting with Hezbollah began. 

The group's militants attacked several IDF strongholds along the northern border, injuring several fighters and damaging tracking systems.

▪️Massive shelling of Israel's rear areas and areas close to the gas sector has continued throughout these days.

The Palestinians hit Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, Ashdod and Beer Sheva, among other places, and several people were injured.

▪️Armed clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces continue unabated in the West Bank.

Over the past week, 60 people were killed in the region and more than a thousand were wounded.

▪️In the Gaza Strip, the mass flight of civilians from the Israeli bombardment to the south of the enclave continues.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force is carrying out massive strikes in Gaza, the aircraft destroyed several convoys with refugees.

▪️Palestinian groups continue to shell Israeli settlements from the territory of the Gaza Strip.

The largest number of missiles hit Sderot and Ashkelon, where the militants fired more than four hundred missiles over two days.

▪️The Israeli Air Force bombs the Gaza Strip almost non-stop, destroying not only militants, but also a large number of civilians.

The humanitarian situation is critical: there is no water and electricity in Gaza, and medical resources are almost completely exhausted.

▪️Israeli authorities have demanded that one million residents of the northern Gaza evacuate to the south, further exacerbating the humanitarian catastrophe.

One of the humanitarian convoys was hit by the Israeli Air Force, killing seventy people.

▪️The Israeli Air Force has launched several missile strikes on airfields in Damascus and Aleppo in Syria.

By doing so, the Israelis are trying to disrupt Iranian forces' logistics in the region, which use these air harbors for their needs.

▪️Hamas launched an attack with Ayyash-250 ballistic missiles, using them for the second time in the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In response, the IDF shelled southern Lebanese territories in the Aalma al-Chaeb area. A group of five foreign journalists came under fire, one of whom was killed.

▪️By Friday, the number and intensity of armed clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces had multiplied in the West Bank.

Hamas had earlier called on the local population to rise up against the Israelis and launch attacks against them across the region.

According to the latest reports, more than 1,100 people have been killed, including two members of the Hamas admin.

At the same time, in response to regular bombardment, Hamas militants fired more than one hundred rockets at Ashkelon.

Israeli units managed to repel both attacks and forced the militants to retreat.

October 9, 2023


▪️On October 9, Palestinians continued to bombard Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities, launching missiles from the Gaza Strip.

Iron Dome intercepted a significant portion of them, but the overloaded system is failing more often.

▪️In the morning, fierce fighting between the Israel Defence Forces and the Palestinians for Sderot continued.

Only after paratroopers were deployed to the city the Israelis finally managed to regain control of it.

▪️Fierce fighting also continued in Zikim, where Palestinian factions deployed another landing force.

Clashes in that area continued throughout the day, after which the Israelis finally succeeded in pushing back the militants.

▪️Fierce fighting ended in Be'eri, where a tunnel had been dug in advance for the transfer of reinforcements.

At least one hundred Israeli soldiers and civilians were killed in clashes in the settlement.

▪️In the north, Islamic Jihad militants shelled border areas, followed by IDF air strikes in southern Lebanon.

At the same time, there was fighting with militants infiltrating Israeli territory in the Northern Galilee.

▪️Throughout the day, the Israeli air force bombed the Gaza Strip indiscriminately, destroying both Hamas facilities and social infrastructure.

Several hospitals and religious sites were destroyed. The prestigious Rimal neighbourhood was almost completely wiped out.

▪️By late afternoon, fighting was reported near the town of Rahat, 30 kilometers east of the Gaza Strip.

In the ensuing firefight, both the attackers and several Israeli soldiers were killed.

October 7-8, 2023


▪️On October 7, during Shabbat, the military wing of Hamas launched a rocket strike on Israeli territory.

Militants captured checkpoints and advanced towards Sderot and Ofakim, taking the border garrisons by surprise.

▪️Simultaneously, an airborne operation was conducted from the sea and air to insert sabotage and reconnaissance groups into rear areas.

A small detachment landed in the major city of Ashkelon, causing panic among the population.

▪️In the evening, the Israeli military began transferring troops and heavy equipment to the southern part of the country, accompanied by bombardments of the Gaza Strip.

Residential high-rises and a Gaza mosque were destroyed along with the homes of Hamas leaders.

▪️The main battles unfolded in Sderot during the night of October 8, where the Israeli army attempted to clear a police station.

By morning, the IDF managed to take control of the territory, but fighting in the city continues.

▪️Fighters from the Hezbollah group began amassing near the northern border of Israel.

On the morning of October 8, rocket strikes and drone attacks from Lebanese territory began. Israeli radars in the Shebaa Farms area were hit.

▪️Towards the evening of October 8, Palestinian units moved in a southeastern direction.

Fierce battles erupted in Mefalsim and, after an airborne operation, in Zrua.

▪️In Palestine, on the West Bank of the Jordan River, clashes and protests in support of Hamas have begun.

Islamic resistance groups, including Hezbollah, threaten to open a second front against Israel.
